THELMA SPATE BOOTH, 94, of West Hamlin, W.Va., passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2016. She was born on April 7, 1922, in Rocky Ford, Colorado, a daughter of Elizabeth and Christian Spate. In addition to her parents and nine siblings, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Marvin L. Booth; infant daughter, Rebecca Ann; and a beloved granddaughter, Danielle Lin Cochran. She is survived by a son, Gary (Linda) Booth of South Point, Ohio; two daughters, Lynn (John) Mayfield of Huntington, W.Va., and Christina (Mark) Taylor of Barboursville, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Brian Booth of South Point, Ohio, Katie Taylor of Barboursville, W.Va., and Nicole Hicks of Ironton, Ohio. She was the Town Recorder of West Hamlin, W.Va., for many years and also worked in the town water office for more than 40 years. Thelma was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, December 4, 2016, at
McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin, W.Va., with Lenny Romans officiating. Burial will follow at
Fairview Memory Gardens, Hamlin, W.Va. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Friends may express their condolences at
