THEORA M. MAGEE, 86 EVANSVILLE - Theora M. Magee, 86, of Evansville, WI passed away on Christmas Day, December 25, 2015, just 2 days before her 87th birthday. Theora was born on December 27, 1928, in Red Oak, IL., to Walter and Verla (Kleckler) Scheider. She was a 1946 graduate of Orangeville High School. She worked at Woolworth's in Freeport, IL., in the summer of 1945 and then at Crum and Forster Insurance in Freeport from 1946-1952. She married Gerald Magee on February 17, 1951 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lena, IL. They divorced in 1983. Theora worked numerous jobs throughout her life. While living in Stockton, IL, she worked at Atwood Mfg. Company and at Hudson Foods. They moved to Evansville, WI., in 1973. There she worked at Chapin's Fine Food, Wilbur's IGA, Supervalu, Hardware Hank, It's Only Dough Bakery, Dr. Sheila Sorkin's office, and the Evansville Mercy Clinic where she worked for 25 years, retiring at age 85 in 2014. She was a member of St. Paul's Church and Ladies Society and the Good Neighbors Club of Evansville. She loved traveling, especially with her grandchildren and accompanied them on many family trips. One of her other favorite trips was with her sister-in-law Margaret when they went to Hawaii. She was particularly taken with the memorial at Pearl Harbor. She loved her grandchildren very much and they have many fond memories of the time they spent together. She also enjoyed making wedding cakes for her children, nieces and nephews and many wonderful birthday cakes especially for her grandchildren. When she was younger and better able to get around, she also enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino to play the slot machines! Theora is survived by her children; Tim (Deb) Magee of Evansville, WI and Kathy (John) Kreul of Highland, WI; 3 grandchildren: Alicia (Mitch) Ziolkowski of Evansville, WI, Tim Kreul of Highland, WI and Emily Kreul and her fiancé Kevin Brogley of Highland, WI.; 1 very special great-granddaughter, Elliza Kreul of Highland, WI., 1 great-grandchild on the way (baby Ziolkowski) and numerous nieces and nephews. Theora was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Lyle Scheider and sister-in-law, Margaret Scheider. A visitation will held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 29, at Ward-Hurtley Funeral Home, 130 South 5th Street, Evansville, WI. A Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 30, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, in Evansville, WI., with Reverend Kevin Dooley officiating burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in Evansville. A special thanks to all of the wonderful caregivers that helped Theora through this most difficult year. All of the EMTs, emergency room folks, heart team at Meriter, Capitol Lakes, Evansville Manor, The Heights assisted living facility, St. Mary's Care Center and all her Mercy doctors, nurses and staff.
