Theresa "Tesa" Brown, beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, flew away to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 27th, 2023, at the age of 64.
Tesa was born on July 11th, 1958, in Harlem. She attended Ralph Bunch Elementary School P.S. 125 and Adam CLayton Powell Jr. Junior High School before graduating from Norman Thomas High School in 1976. Tesa continued her education at Pace University and studied business administration. Tesa had careers at Citi Bank, as an assistant at a law firm and as a security guard where she worked for many years.
As a young girl, Tesa loved to talk, she got in a lot of trouble in school for talking too much, but that was Tesa! You could talk to her for hours and get sound advice with no judgment. Tesa was loving, caring, giving, and a fighter till she drew her last breath.
Tesa has left a huge void in our hearts that over time will be filled with loving memories one day. We will miss that laugh and infectious smile. Tesa is survived by her two sons, Antoine and Andrew, her father, Bernard Brown, her brother, David Brown, her sisters-in-law, Genene Brown, Yvette Brown, and Toni Brown, and her very best lifelong friends Tanya Cunningham, Cynthia Faison, and Louise Pittman. She also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who loved her dearly.
Tesa will always be remembered for her faith in Christ, kind heart, and unwavering love for her family and friends.
One of Tesa's favorite scriptures is:
Romans 8:31-32 - (31)What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? (32) He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
