It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas Breitkreutz, born on January 6th, 1950 and left this world on April 11th, 2023 in his hometown of Remer, Minnesota. His father Roy and mother Patrisha always knew he was destined for greatness, but his love for practical jokes and witty one-liners trumped any serious pursuits.
Tom was not one to conform to societal norms, which is why he married his high school sweetheart Mary in 1968, long before it was socially acceptable to do so. They were blessed with two children, Troy and Brad, who are miraculously still alive after being raised on Tom's dubious parenting advice.
Tom's greatest joys in life were playing pranks on his friends and family, fishing, and sneaking vegetables into his meals to trick Mary into thinking he was getting healthier. He was a master at creatively reusing old items and had a talent for making everything work, even if it was held together with duct tape and a prayer.
Troy married Brenda and Brad married Amy, and Tom was happy to see they married women who appreciated his humor, even if they didn't always understand it. He loved his grandchildren, but never bothered to learn their names. To him, they were always "kid, kiddo, or you there."
Tom lived a full life, and while his shenanigans sometimes caused headaches and heart attacks for those around him, he will be missed by many. A private memorial will be held in his honor because Tom didn't want a fuss, and we're fairly certain he's already hiding around the corner waiting to scare us as we leave.
You can to the family or in memory of Thomas Breitkreutz.
