Thomas W. Cacace, 78, of Hop Bottom, passed away unexpectedly on May 10, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. He was born on January 3, 1935 in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late Camilo Cacace and Mary Josephine (Sworen) Parzych. He was also predeceased by his son, Thomas M. Cacace in 2008.He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Diana M. (Uffmann) Cacace, Hop Bottom; daughter and son-in-law, Janice L. Cacace and John McDonnell, Miami, Fla.; grandson, John Henry McDonnell, Ely, Nev.; step-father, Chester Parzych, Lacanto, Fla.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Nancy Parzych, Huntersville, N.C., and Wallace and Donna Parzych, Oviedo, Fla.. Thomas grew up in New York and Long Island. He was a machinist for Howe Machine & Tool Corp, in Beth Page, Long Island, N.Y. ('52-'72) previous to moving to Pennsylvania where he worked for Ideal Tool Company in Great Bend ('72-'76), Midway Tool in Wilkes Barre ('76-'92), then N.C. Stauffer's in Factoryville ('93-'03) where he retired as a supervisor. Thomas and his wife Diana were co-owners of Thomas's Restaurant in Kingsley, for 18 years ('78-'95) where a lot of people got to know Tom for his friendly, outgoing disposition. Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home. Rite of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 16, 2013 at the funeral home, with Deacon Paul Brojack of St. Patrick's Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Squier-Lathrop Cemetery, Lathrop Twp.Donations may be made in Thomas' memory to the .
