Thomas Edward Egan Thomas passed away on August 10, 2017 from cancer. He was born on January 30th, 1946 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Fairbanks High School in 1963 and held several jobs in Alaska at Odon Co, and Safeway. He also worked on the Alaskan Pipeline. He attened the University of Alaska in 1971. Tom moved to Washington State in 1980 to attend the University of Puget Sound to become a lawyer. Tom went on to have a very successful career as a lawyer, mediation judge and the Lead Board member of the Board of Industrial Insurance Appeals. He was very much respected and loved by his fellow coworkers. Tom was appointed in 2003 by then Governor Gary Locke to run the Board of Industrial Insurance Appeals. He held that title for two consecutive terms. He was currently working at the Board as a Review Judge. Tom loved baseball and collecting coins. He was kind and fair. He was know as a man of much integrity to all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Brenda, daughters Rebecca Nesbit of Longview and Kailyn O'Connell of Olympia. Also sister Dr. Kelly Egan of Alaska and brother in law Dr. Peter Buckley of Seattle, brother Mike Egan and sister in law Cheryl Egan of Alaska. Granddaughter Nika Nesbit and grandson Liam Nesbit. Also nephews Joel and James Egan of Seattle and nieces Ginger Egan, Julie Parmenter and Amy Hanson of Alaska. All who knew Tom will sorely miss him. He was preceded in death by former wife, Judith Aldrich, mother of Rebecca and niece Tina Wood.
