Thomas Edward McLaughlinNovember 18, 1947 - February 18, 2017Wilsonville, OR - Thomas Edward McLaughlin, 69, of Wilsonville, Oregon passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 18th, 2017 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Portland, Oregon. He was born on November 18, 1947 in White Salmon, Washington to Tex McLaughlin and Maria Brown.Thomas joined the military at an early age and served in both the U.S. Army and Air Force. He was soon deployed to Vietnam where he served his country with pride. He was a passionate man who fueled his creative nature with his love for painting and sculpture. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and flourished in his long-time love of billiards.Thomas' greatest accomplishment in life was his children, and he was very proud of each of them and their achievements. Thomas is survived by his 7 children: Elizabeth Theriot, Christopher, Justin, Rebecca Martin, Jeremiah, Domenica Bahr, and Benjamin; 11 grandchildren, one nephew, his loving mother Maria Brown, stepfather Doctor Paul Brown and sister Mary Jo Brobeck. He is preceded in death by his father James Thomas McLaughlin.The family will be holding a Celebration of Life in his honor on Saturday, March 4th, 2017 at 2 pm with a reception to follow at Camp Angelos Grand Lodge, 32149 SE Steven's Rd, Corbett, OR 97019 ( www.campangelos.org). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the Wounded Warrior Project ( www.woundedwarriorfoundation.org).
