Thomas Fred HarrellThomas Fred Harrell, 92, of Tallahassee, FL, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2017 at the Big Bend Hospice House.Fred was born on December 2, 1924 in Ft. Myers, FL. He grew up in the Sanborn Community in Sopchoppy, FL. He served his country in World War II as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne and received the Purple Heart for his service in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a truck driver with Ryder/PIE Truck Lines for 37 years. His retirement years were filled with hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family and friends.Fred is survived by his wife, Betty Thompson Harrell; his children, Wava Harrell (Frank McCauley), Sue Harrell Gee (Brian), Ronald W. Reeves (Jo), Letty Reeves Harvin (Kevin) and Betty Reeves White (Kenny); his brothers, Jay Harrell and Jimmie Harrell; his sisters, Louise Tryon and Faye Miller; his grandchildren, Christi Thomas Harrell (Shawn), Courtney Gee, Madison Gee, Jenny Reeves Connors (Bobby), Catherine Reeves Morales (Julio), Scott Reeves (Laura), Serena Harvin Nelson (Matt), Kimberly Harvin, Beth White Dunlap (William) and Tommy White (Andrea); his great grandchildren, Emily & Ethan Harrell, Troa & Aven Connors, Juliette Morales, Maci & Brayden Reeves, Jacob Nelson, Billy & Brantley Dunlap, Gage, Austin, Richard and Landen White.He is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he loved.He was predeceased by his wife, Betty Daughtry Harrell; his grandson, Brandon Thomas; his brothers and sisters, Geneva Barwick, Juanita Elder, Jackie Vause, Bernice Nix, RW Harrell and Bartley Harrell.Visitation will be held Monday, October 30, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm, at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Road, Tallahassee, FL 32308. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at 11:00 am, at the funeral home, with burial following at Roselawn Cemetery.Charitable contributions may be made to Teen Challenge or Big Bend Hospice of Tallahassee.
