Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday, Jan 02, 2017 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home and Tuesday, Jan 03, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Sykes Funeral Home.Thomas passed away on Saturday, Dec 31, 2016 at his residence. He was born on Sept 28, 1931 in Stewart Co., TN to Clifton Powell and Dorothy Joiner Hancock. He was retired from the City of Clarksville with 41 years of service as the Director of Traffic Control, and was a beef cattle farmer. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Wallace Hancock; brother, Ray Hancock; and sister, Barbara Byrd. He is survived by his son, Louie P. (Judy) Hancock; daughter, Dava (Donnie) White; brother, Bernie (Kim) Hancock; sisters; Nell Rye, Peggy Kichler; grandchildren, Katie Keatts, Jessica Vaughan; great-grandchildren, Destani Locklear, Isaiah Locklear, Zachariah Kelley, Evan Wyatt Keatts, and Elliott Thomas Keatts.Online condolences may be made to www.sykesfuneralhome.com
