Thomas Moore, 83, of Garner, North Carolina, passed on June 27, 2023. Thomas was born on June 19, 1940 to the late Ernest and Sophia Moore (Utley).
He attended Holly Springs Consolidated School
Thomas worked at Rigssbee Automotive as a mechanic for many years and soon became self- employed he was one of the most well-known mechanics in the triangle. He also acquired a part- time job working for many years at a laundromat. Thomas loved talking on his CB radio where he named himself "Scorpio". He had a passion for dancing and no one could compare to his dance moves. He loved fishing, grilling, and gardening. Everything he planted each year he would give away to friends and family who stopped by. Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Leach Moore; brother, George Moore; sister, Louis Moore; five sisters-in-law; and ten brothers-in-law. Charlie is survived by: his five children, Vickie Moore (Sam) of Holly Springs, NC, Terry Moore (Sheila) of Clayton, NC, Gloria Moore and and Barry Moore (Colethia), both of Garner, NC, and Jerry Moore of Holly Springs, NC; eleven grandchildren, Kory, LaKayla (Travis), Brandon, Sheldena (Willie), Blake, Dennis, Jerrah, LaQunita, Jazmin Jr., Darryl Jr., and Hannah; twenty-eight great grandchildren; four sisters, Ernestine Cofield, Inez Lyons, Bernice Harris, and Louise McCullers; sisters-in-law, Sarah Leach, Bessie Leach, and Ellowee Leach; and brothers-in-law, Calvin Leach, Lenzie Leach, Larry Leach, and Raphael Leach. Two special friends Calvin Leslie and John Day. A host of nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he loved so dearly that they referred to as “Uncle Freak".
