RACINE - Thomas John Siebert, 86, a lifelong resident of Racine, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2015 at Wisconsin Veterans Home in Dover. Tom was born on October 10, 1929, the son of the late John O. and Ida Siebert. While a student at Washington Park High School, Tom was eager to enlist with the Navy and proudly served on the crews of the USS Edisto and the USS Shenandoah during the Korean Conflict. He always remembered his navy years and mates with particular fondness. During his military service Tom learned his trade and went on to work as an expert welder for the duration of his professional life. In addition to having operated his own business for several years, employments included E.C. Styberg Engineering, Alberts Tool and Die and J.I. Case from where he retired, greatly enjoying a long and contented retirement. His last years were happily lived out in Fairchild Hall of the Veterans Home in Dover where he greatly appreciated the warm and professional care shown him by the nurses, CNAs and Activities and Foods Service staffs. Tom especially held the Social Workers and Dietitians in special affection. Tom would be glad to be remembered as a man who worked hard, loved and provided for his family, and was an ardent American patriot. Surviving Tom are the children born of his union with Dolores; Linda K. Gleason, Thomas David Siebert, Daniel Patrick Siebert and their spouses, Edward Gleason, Richard Goff, and Laura Siebert, respectively. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Lynne Dolores Cunningham, Leah (nee: Siebert) Kellogg and her husband Christopher Kellogg, August Siebert, Logan Siebert, Morgan Bertzyk and Matthew Bertzyk. Tom was preceded in death by his three wives, Dolores (nee: Lenzke) Siebert, Margaret (nee: Kellner) Siebert, and Judy (nee: Vance) Siebert, in addition to one sister, Margaret Lessnau. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park on Friday, August 21, 2015 at 11 am. Please meet at the cemetery entrance prior to services.
