A Life Well Lived
On September 20, 2024, Thomas Lee Paradis of Canaan, Maine, United States passed away at the age of 77. He was born on July 23, 1947, to David and Mary Ann Paradis. Thomas was born and raised in Scituate, Massachusetts. In 1975 Thomas met the love of his life. He 2nd and final marriage was to Erma Paulette in 1980 (Paulette preceded him in death in 2020). He has one natural son Mac from his first marriage. He became a stepfather from his 2nd marriage to Paulette and together Thomas & Paulette parented three children: Marc (spouse Carol), Jeffrey McMillan (spouse Terri), and Terry Boyd. He is also survived by three grandchildren.
Thomas attended Scituate High School and graduated in 1965. He continued his education at the University of Denver Law School and graduated in 1976. He went on to have a successful career as a lawyer in multiple roles. His final professional role was serving as a Senior Executive Vice President at Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce retiring in 2014.
Thomas also proudly served in the United States Air Force. On February 15, 1970 Thomas joined the United States Air Force. He served 5 years in Active Duty and 2 years as a Reserves Officer. He spent 2 years on the TASS(Tactical Air Support Squadron) during Vietnam War. Because of his experiences in The Vietnam War Thomas did not like to discuss his military experiences abroad. It is clear from his medals from The United States Military that Thomas Paradis was in combat in both Korea and Vietnam. To deal with his PTSD Thomas began working with his hands and would work in his garage for hours. He has restored multiple boats and built two homes from the ground up. He enjoyed building as a hobby.
Thomas Paradis will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his country, and his community. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Rest in peace, Thomas.
