Thomas Lester Wilkerson, 69, went peacefully to be with the Lord on May 26, 2014 at his home in Lexington, Missouri. He was born on February 22, 1945 in Dinuba, California.A Vietnam veteran, Tom served on board the USS Kennebec from 1963-1967. When he completed his service in the
United States Navy, he resided in Pomona, California where he and his wife raised their two children. Tom later moved to Bard, California; where he was raised as a child and attended San Pasqual School, and enjoyed the majority of his life living on his date farm. In 2011, he and his wife Judy decided they needed a change of scenery, so they packed up and moved to Lexington, Missouri, in order to spend some time closer to her family.Tom is survived my his wife Judy Wilkerson; daughter Lynette (Rick) Stewart; grandsons Ricky Stewart, Cody VanDolah, Justin Wilkerson, and Dustin Stewart; granddaughter Nicole (Donny) DeForest, all of Yuma; great grandchildren Hailee VanDolah and Trent Wilkerson; step children; step grandchildren, brothers JD Wilkerson (Pamona, California), Ronnie Smith, Dean Smith, and Lloyd Smith, all of Stockton, California. Tom was preceded in death by his grandmother Euna Wilkerson; father Thomas Wilkerson; mother Margaret Thompson; brothers Eddie Smith and Terry Thompson; and his son Thomas Lester Wilkerson III (Tim). He was a very devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, neighbor, and friend to all. His soft heart and easy going personality will surely be missed by those who had the opportunity to know and love him. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 10:00 am at the Bard Church of the Nazarene, with longtime friend Bill Matlock officiating. Please sign the guest book at
