Thomas M. Fitzgerald AGE: 66 • Point Pleasant BeachThomas M. Fitzgerald, 66, of Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey died suddenly on Sunday, August 13, 2017. Tom was born on March 1, 1951 and raised in Rahway, New Jersey. He has been a resident of Point Pleasant Beach for over thirty years. Tom was retired from GM Parts Division, Bensalem, Pennsylvania. Sports played a major role in Tom's life. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates out of high school. As an adult, he coached his boys in basketball and baseball. He spent countless hours at the Little League field for many years. He was a huge Notre Dame football fan and supported the Red Sox and the New York Giants. He served on the Recreation Committee of Point Pleasant Beach and the Planning Board. In his retirement years, you could find him attending daily Mass at St. Peter's, enjoying his grandchildren or watching the games and horse racing in the garage with his pals.He was predeceased by his parents Thomas G. and Ellen Fitzgerald. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife, Sharon Fitzgerald; sons and their wives, Ryan and Rebecca of Wesley Chapel, Florida; Timothy and Jennifer of Manasquan, New Jersey; Kevin and Nancy of Richmond, Virginia; and his six beloved grandchildren: Logan, Kathryn, Jack, Emery, Parker and Thomas; cousins and many friends.Visitation will be from 3 - 7 p.m., Tuesday, August 15 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 16 a Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Saint Peter R.C.
