Multerer, Thomas M. MADISON-Thomas M. Multerer, age 86, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2017, in Mequon, Wis. He was born on Oct. 4, 1930, in Milwaukee, the son of Joseph and Pearl Multerer. Thomas was united in marriage to Margie Gores on June 16, 1951, in Prairie du Chien. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie; son, Steven F. Multerer; son-in-law, Bill McMahon; and sister, Marilyn Van de Kamp. Tom had aspirations to explore many different career paths, first in the gas station/oil business, shortly after, a part owner of a radio station, then in 1962, Tom went into the insurance business. He joined the team at Equitable Life Insurance of New York and became a district manager in 1964 until 1967, he was then promoted to agency manager serving in Indiana and then Madison for the remainder of his career, retiring in 1991. While Tom received many awards over his career, he was especially proud of his 1972 National Presidents Award and his presidency of the company's Old Guard. Tom was a Knight of St. Gregory, active in his parish, St. Bernard's for years as well as a member of the Madison Diocese Finance Committee. He enjoyed golfing for many years and more recently was an avid hearts enthusiast. He was a very important part of his grandchildren's lives and gave much appreciated wisdom, advice and life lessons. He was dearly loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. Tom is survived by his children, Peggy (McMahon) and her husband, Michael, Steven's wife, Patti, Samm McMahon, and Thomas Joseph and his wife, Cathy; grandchildren, Colleen (Jeffery) Koehler, Mike (Renee) McMahon, Dr. Shannon (Tobi) McMahon Roessle, Meghan (Nick) Demchenko and Mallory McMahon, and Caitlin, Kelsi and Haley Multerer; and great-grandchildren, Cade, Tess and Hayden Koehler, Will McMahon, Roxie McMahon Roessle, Madison and Maxwill Demchenko, and Alyiana McMahon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARD'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2015 Parmenter St., Middleton, at 12 PM, on Friday, July 28, 2017, with Msgr. Doug Dushack presiding. Burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 11:30 AM until the time of mass on Friday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be gifted directly to Hometown Heroes, 983 Badger Circle, Grafton, Wis., 53024, in honor of Tom and Margie Multerer.
