McNamara, Thomas P. "Tom"Thomas P. "Tom" McNamara, 85, Green Bay, died Tuesday, April 18, 2017. He was born on December 17, 1931, in Green Bay to John and Louise (Poirier) McNamara.Tom graduated from St. Patrick Grade School, and Green Bay West High School, Class of 1951. Following high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Japan and the Philippines during the Korean War. After the war, Tom worked for James River, retiring after 37 years. On January 5, 1957, he married Monica Grandaw at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Amberg. She preceded him in death on May 10, 2011. He was a member of the AmVets, St. Patrick Parish (lifetime). He loved cooking, fishing, doing woodworking projects, and was an avid collector of curiosities. Tom also loved watching football and spending time with family. He will be remembered as a generous man with a great sense of humor who gave his time to help anyone who needed it.Tom is survived by three children, Patrick and Mary McNamara, Paul McNamara, Susan and Lee Patske; grandchildren, Nathaniel (Stephanie) McNamara, John (Ashleigh) McNamara, Caitlin McNamara; great-grandchildren, Margaret McNamara, Shane McNamara, Emily McNamara; his sister, Mary Lou Thesing; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his wife, Monica; his son, Michael; his parents; and two brothers, Jim and Charlie.Friends may call at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 211 North Maple St., from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday. April 22. The Memorial Mass will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the church with Rev. Donald Everts officiating. Burial will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park.
