Thomas Patrick Powell Thomas Patrick Powell, age 62, of Bluffton and formerly of northern Virginia died Saturday, June 4, 2016 at his home. Mr. Powell was born on October 11, 1953 in Portsmouth, VA, the son of the late Roy Randolph Powell and Maybelle Roberts Powell. He was a graduate of the University of Richmond and worked for many years as an optician. While living in northern Virginia, he was a member of the Lions Club and was a Cub Scout Leader. In addition to his parents, Mr. Powell was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Powell. He is survived by his wife, Julia Powell; son, Chadwick Powell of Blacksburg, VA; daughter, Chelsea Powell of Bluffton; sister, Deborah Bellamy (David) of Gulf Breeze, FL; and sister-in-law, Carol Whitcomb Powell of Pensacola, FL. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC 29910. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the .
