Thomas Ray WellsThomas Ray Wells, 92, of Alexandria, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, surrounded by his family. Thomas Ray Wells was born on February 7, 1925, and attended Menard High School. Tom proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a World War II veteran. Tom received two purple hearts during his service. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all. Tom had a great sense of adventure. He loved to tell stories of skiing on the Red River. Tom took many wonderful trips with his wife, Peggy, to Canton, Texas, in their 1983 motor home. Together, Tom and Peggy traveled all over the United States and Canada. Tom was known for his wide collection of Jim Beam decanter's and his love for cabbage rolls. Tom attended Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. He was a contract painter until his retirement. Tom will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Wells; his son, Ricky Ray Wells; and three step-brothers, Vic Moreau, Ray Moreau, and Leonard Moreau. Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Tommy Wells and wife, Patricia; four grandchildren, Amy Wells, Jessie Wells, Shanna Wahl, and Alyse Wells.The family gathered together for a private family service and burial.
