It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Hudson, Jr, who was born on February 28, 1950, and peacefully left this earthly realm on May 1, 2024, in Canyon, Texas, United States. Thomas was the beloved son of Russell and Betty Jo (Harrison) Hudson.
Thomas was preceded in death by his father and mother and first wife Beverly who together they had two children. He is survived by his sister, Mary Jo and spouse Jerry Newton, two children, Holly Landess and Kent Hudson with spouse Karrie Hudson. Thomas was also a loving grandfather to four grandchildren Thomas Landess, Tyler Landess, Natalie Hudson, and Sadie Hudson. He was united in marriage to Linda Bain in 2019 and gained three step-children, Stacey Van Tassel, Carolyn Van Tassel, and Garry Van Tassel, eight step-grandchildren, and four step-great-grandchildren.
Thomas attended Morton High School, graduating in 1968, before moving on to further his education at Texas Tech University, where he graduated in 1972. He went on to have a successful career at American Electric Power, retiring in 2010.
Outside of his professional life, Thomas was an active member of the Wellington Volunteer Firefighter organization for 30 years, where he selflessly volunteered his time and expertise, and the ambulance service in Wellington for 3 years. He was awarded numerous accolades for his dedication and service.
Thomas had a passion for hunting and airplanes, and could often be found indulging in these hobbies in his spare time. His love for the outdoors was a true reflection of his adventurous spirit.
Thomas passed away after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
