Thomas Schaefer, 77Thomas (Tom) Lee Schaefer, 77, formerly of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away at Good Samaritan Home in Mountain Home, Arkansas, on October 6, 2017. Tom was born on August 25, 1940, to O.J. and Alice (Bryant) Schaefer.Tom worked as a repair technician for Southwestern Bell/AT&T and retired from this career after more than 35 years of service. He was an active member in both the Telephone Pioneers of America and St. Andrews Episcopal Church.Tom enjoyed many hobbies. He was an avid fisherman, woodworker, and gardener. After his retirement, he obtained his private pilot license. He loved to travel in his plane and frequented many small airports.Tom is survived by his two daughters, Dee Ann Cress (and her husband David) of Rolla, Missouri, and Linda Lucas of Asheville, North Carolina, as well as his grandchildren: Caitlin Wallace (and her husband Grant), Becca Cress, Eric Lucas, and Ben Lucas.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good Samaritan Home 300 Good Samaritan Drive, Mountain Home, Arkansas, 72653.Arrangements are under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.
