Thomasina M. "Tommie" Madrigrano1932 - 2015Thomasina M. "Tommie" Madrigrano, a resident of Kenosha and Las Vegas, Nev., died following a sudden illness on Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, at Shea Hospital, Scottsdale, Ariz.Thomasina was born on Sep. 4, 1932, in Kenosha; she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Sarah (Maccarone) Montemurro.She attended St. Thomas Aquinas Elementary School, St. Clara Academy, Sinsinawa, Wis., and Rosary College, River Forest, Ill.On Feb. 14, 1953, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, she was united in marriage to Aldo Madrigrano. Sadly he preceded her in death on May 10, 1986. Thomasina was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, the Italian American Auxiliary, and Holy Family Catholic Church in Las Vegas, Nev.From an early age, Tommie taught her children about their extended family, their Italian heritage and their religion. She showed them how fortunate they were to have each other, a father who worked hard every day for them and encouraged each of her children to be independent thinkers. She led by example when she taught her children to be grounded and always remember where they came from. Her unconditional love will live on in each of them. Survivors include her four children, Gina M. (Bill) Madrigrano Friebus, Thomas (Joan Linsott) Madrigrano, Kathy (Luigi Comi) Madrigrano, and Aldo (Dawn) Madrigrano; her three granddaughters, Nicole (Nolan) Ryan, Anna (Andrew) Fillipi and Valentina Comi, and her great grandson Thomas Aldo Fillipi. Thomasina is further survived by her sister-in-law, Shirley Madrigrano.Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Mary (John) Peterson, and Eleanor (Roger) Gemignani, and her brothers, Michael, whom passed away within a day of her passing, and Joseph Montemurro. Thomasina was also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters- in- law, Dario (Marianne) Madrigrano and Joseph "Pepe" Madrigrano, Sr. and Gene (Vera) Speca. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 6, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 1919-54th St. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at the church for the Mass. Entombment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum. A visitation for Thomasina will be held on Thursday, Feb. 5, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to the Aldo and Thomasina Madrigrano Scholarship at St. Joseph Catholic Academy, 2401-69th St., Kenosha, WI 53143, the Thomas and Sarah Montemurro Scholarship at Carthage College, 2001 Alford Park Dr., Kenosha, WI 53140, or Our Lady of Mt.
