Timothy Andrew Bly, of Independence, Missouri, passed away on July 9, 2024, just 8 days shy of his 78th birthday. Timothy was born on July 17, 1946, to his parents Evelyn and Ernest Bly.

Timothy attended Van Horn High School, where he held records in the shot put and graduated in 1965. He was known for his love of woodwork, watching the Kansas City Chiefs play, and dancing the night away.

Timothy is preceded in death by his parents, brother, David Bly and sister, Margie Craven.

Timothy is survived by his five children: Janese Yates (Guy Harleman) of Blue Springs, MO, Roy Brown of Independence, MO, Tocoa Brown (Jason Burnett) of Riverview, FL, LeAnne Bly of Independence, MO, and Brandy Dougan (Keith Dougan) of Wellsville, KS. He was a grandfather to 12 grandchildren, Megan Yates, Dennis Brown, Devin Brown, Dallas Brown, Destiny Brown, Summer Brown, Cortnie Burnett, Gabe Burnett, Justine Dougan, Andrew Dougan, Anthony Dougan and Taryn Newcome. He was also a great grandfather to 13 great grandchildren.

Timothy will be remembered for his contagious beautiful smile and his ability to make anyone laugh. He was a big man, with an even bigger personality. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
