LAGRANGE — Titus J. Speicher Jr., 84, of LaGrange died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, at Miller's Merry Manor in LaGrange. Mr. Speicher owned and operated LaGrange Monument Works in LaGrange until becoming ill. He had attended a seminary in Evanston, Illinois, and was a lay pastor for the United Methodist Church. He had ministered in Valentine for 20 years. Mr. Speicher was a life member of K of P Lodge in LaGrange. He was born on March 26, 1930, in Elkhart to Titus T. and Vera E. (Donat) Speicher. He married Martha E. Shafer on April 30, 1947, in Topeka. She preceded him in death on July 26, 2012. Surviving are two sons, Wesley and Shari Speicher and Tim and Kim Speicher, both of LaGrange; three daughters, Margaret and Joseph Westrom of Kokomo, Karen and Ray Springer of LaGrange and Janie and Sanford Schrock of Millersburg; two brothers, Howard and Diana Speicher and Roger and Mary Speicher, both of LaGrange; three sisters, Yvonne Parks of Sturgis, Mich., June Manor of LaGrange and Karol and Dave Endres of California; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mildred Speicher. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at Carney-Frost Funeral Home in LaGrange. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Cain of the Lake Missionary Church in Angola officiating. Burial will be in Shore Cemetery in Shipshewana.
