Tom L. HuffJuly 4, 1955 - February 4, 2017BREMEN - Tom L. Huff was surrounded by his family as he went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 4, 2017 at Signature Healthcare in Bremen. Tom was born on July 4, 1955 in Lakeville to Everett and Vivian (Hammaker) Huff. He was a 1973 LaVille High School graduate. In 1975, Tom married Mel (Faulkner) Huff. Tom completed the 4 year apprenticeship from Ivy Tech and became Journeyman Carpenter. He was a member of Carpenter's Local 413. He later started his own company, New Creation Builders. (II Cor. 5:17). Tom was a former elder, youth leader and Sunday School teacher at Lakeville Christian Church. He was a current member of Cornerstone Community Fellowship, where he had been and elder and Sunday School teacher. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mel (Faulkner) Huff; son, Jerami (Lori) Huff and his adored grandsons, Cole and Jace Huff of Nappanee; daughter, Angie (Pat) Luecke of South Bend; his mother, Vivian (Gene Watkins) of Plymouth; sisters, Cheryl Huff-Slusser of Savannah, GA, Sandy (Steve) Muffley of Bremen, Janice (Sam) Johnson of Bremen and brother Steve (Shelley) Huff of North Liberty. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and much loved nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his father and grandparents. There is not enough space to tell who Tom was. To put it simply, he was a good man. He loved his Lord and was a faithful servant. He cherished his family. He was honest, kind, giving, and never judged. He had an awesome sense of humor and loved to tease. He was a hard worker and skilled craftsman. Tom was not a man of many words, but his actions spoke volumes. Huntington's disease had ravaged Tom's body for many years but it couldn't take away who he was – a good man. II Cor. 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has gone, the new has come. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm, Tuesday, February 7, 2017 in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St. Rd. 331, Bremen.
