Fevurly, Tommy Ray Tommy Ray Fevurly, 69, of Phoenix, AZ passed away March 26, 2017. Tommy was born on April 25, 1947 in Manhattan, KS, to Ralph and Florence Fevurly. Tommy graduated in 1965 from Leavenworth High School, in Leavenworth, KS. Tommy served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he was an Army Airborne Ranger Long Range Patrol Squad Leader. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal with V device oak leaf cluster for heroism and Purple Heart Medal with oak leaf clusters. After completing his military service, Tommy attended Northeast Missouri State Teachers College in Kirksville, MO, graduating with a degree in education. He dedicated more than 30 years to education in Missouri and Kansas, serving as a teacher, principal, and superintendent. In his spare time Tommy enjoyed waterskiing, flying airplanes, ballroom dancing, and singing of all kinds (from his church choir to karaoke). Tommy is survived by his mother, Florence (Ball) Fevurly, of Sun City, AZ; a daughter, Tiffany Mellencamp, her husband Jeff Mellencamp, and two grandchildren, Spencer and Macy Mellencamp, all of Camdenton, Missouri; and a son, Michael Fevurly, of Portland, OR, two brothers, Rick Fevurly and wife Debbie, of Parker, AZ, and John Fevurly and wife Jana, of Scottsdale, AZ; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Tommy was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph James "Jim" Fevurly, and his father, Ralph Junior Fevurly. Burial was held at Fall Creek Cemetery in Jarbalo, Kansas. A Celebration of Tom's life will be held on Sunday, April 23rd beginning with a reception of light refreshments at 1:30pm in the church Fellowship Hall and a 3:00pm service in the small Chapel of Lakeview United Methodist Church,10298 W. Thunderbird Blvd., Sun City, AZ 85351.
