Tommy James St. Pierre completed his earthly journey and entered his new life on April 5, 2013. He was born on December 28, 1954.Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until funeral time Monday at St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church, 16166 S. Harrells Ferry Road in Baton Rouge. A Mass of Christian burial will be at noon Monday at the church, celebrated by Father Tom Ranzino, with burial in St. Mary's Nativity Church Cemetery in Raceland.He is survived by his wife, Cindy; three sons, Jade St. Pierre, Chad St. Pierre, and Bret St. Pierre; daughter, Lindsay Kasten; daughters-in-law, Tiffany Meischke St. Pierre and Maia Thibodeaux; son-in-law, Ben Kasten; five grandchildren, Brittanie St. Pierre, Allie St. Pierre, Caleb St. Pierre, Evelyn Kasten and Lillian Kasten; and one step-grandchild, Briana Bethea; four sisters, Gail (Arthur Matherne) Hebert, Mary (Carl) Thibodeaux, Donna (Ron) Naquin and Deborah St. Pierre.He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Joseph St. Pierre; brother-in-law, Larry Hebert; and father-in-law, Daniel Martinez Sr.For almost 38 years he has shared his life with his wife, Cindy Martinez St. Pierre. Together they were blessed with four children, five grandchildren and one step-grandchild. Tommy was ordained a deacon in the Catholic Church, Diocese of East Baton Rouge, on June 4, 2006. His life centered on loving and caring for his wife, children and grandchildren and service to the Lord. He strived to bring the love of Christ to everyone he knew, and that love has been returned to him a hundred fold by family, friends and even strangers in the weaning months of his life. He considered every aspect of his life - the joy and the sorrow, the comforts and the suffering as a gift from God to be embraced. He leaves behind a legacy of love and memories that all who knew him will forever cherish.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name may be made to St. Joseph Carpenter House Hospice Foundation, 10615 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, La. 70809 or to St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church Social Services Ministry.Resthaven Funeral Home in Baton Rouge is in charge of arrangements.
