Toni Roberts of Lancaster, California was born on February 11, 1953 to George H. Roberts and Leola Holman-Roberts in Beaumont, Texas. She attended Booker T. She, knowing that there was more out there for her life, left Beaumont, at the age of 17 and moved to Los Angeles where she graduated from L A High School.
Toni’s journey led her on to banking and accounting for a number of years, eventually moving on to work at USC for over 10 years in the housing department. Toni later retired from the Fashion Design Institute of Merchandising where she was executive administrator of housing.
Toni loved to cook and her definition of holiday feast was just that — a feast! From cakes to pies and the soul of soul foods, she always gave it her all and then some. In addition to cooking, gardening was one of her favorite things to do and she always enjoyed showing her prized veggies.
Toni loved her dogs , Goldie and Lexi. They were an extension of her family. Toni, Mom, a woman that held many endearing names will always be remembered as a resilient woman of courage and strength with a hint of vulnerability that she never really showed unless you knew her well enough to see beyond her sometimes tough exterior.
Toni was a giver and with that giving heart would love to share scripture, always followed by some type of sound, practical advice. That was one of the things you could always count on when in conversation with her.
Toni was a sports fan all across the board, but most of all we knew her as a "to the heart" LA Lakers fan.
