Toni RodriguesOctober 19, 1947 - March 15, 2015Barbara Toni Rodrigues passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2015, at her home in Pocatello, Idaho. She was surrounded by loved ones as she journeyed peacefully into heaven. Toni was born on October 19, 1947, in California. She spent the first 52 years of life there, cared for by her devoted Mother, LaDaun Rodrigues. After her mother's passing, Toni came to live in Pocatello in August 1999 with her niece Mikki Griffey and Mikki's children Wes Wheatley and Tessa Griffey.Toni was a unique woman who profoundly impacted many lives. Despite her physical limitations, she exuded an indomitable spirit that demonstrated authentic joy, genuine love, and immense kindness. She was always up for adventures of any sort - making tie dyes, camping, off-road driving, getting stuck in the mud, and drum circles at the bonfire. She especially enjoyed shopping which she enjoyed with her best friend Sally Morris. Toni also enjoyed many types of music - Frank Sinatra, the Supremes, of course Elvis, and more. Her all-time favorite artist was Celine Dion, and Toni considered herself to be Celine's #1 Fan. Any given afternoon, one could hear her singing along with her favorite Celine songs or videos, filled with joy. Toni twice had the opportunity to see Celine live in concert twice and treasured the memories of those experiences.Toni's exceptional spirit attracted dedicated caretakers, devoted family members, life-long friends, and even a fan club. We are forever grateful for those who cared for her on a daily basis and impacted her life in a positive way: her sister Kathleen (Rodrigues) Seaton, family friends Crystal and Richard Leyba, dearly departed friend Terri Patchett, devoted nurses Stephanie Hansen and Sally Morris, nieces Emily Millican and Tessa Griffey, nephews Wesley Wheatley and Benjamin Briggs, Sherm the mailman, and many others.Kathleen Seaton and Mikki Griffey invite all those who knew and loved Toni to join in a celebration of her life and all the things she loved. There will be an open-house reception on Saturday, March 28, 2015 from 12:00 to 4:00 pm at 13094 N. Yellowstone Avenue. Her arrangements are under the care and direction of Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W.
