Tracy Elaine Branfield (née Carey), 87, of Coral Springs, Florida, passed peacefully in her home on August 3, 2023. Tracy was born to Yolanda (Bibbi) & Bingi Carey on September 10, 1935 in her hometown of Kingston, Jamaica, which she often traveled back to every summer. In 1972, Mrs. Branfield and her husband, Antonio, traveled all over the United States before finally deciding to settle in the quiet city of Coral Springs, Florida. She was a very intelligent woman who taught herself Spanish and a bit of French by watching various television shows and reading every newspaper she came across. She raised her two children, Toni-Anne and Andrew with unconditional love, honor, and sense of humor. As a South Florida resource educator for over 22 years, she helped educate, shape, and greatly influence hundreds of youth, specifically black children. In her retirement she really enjoyed spending quality time with her family on Sundays, cooking new meals, knitting, and playing with her loving cat, Siddy. She is survived by her dear husband of nearly 60 years, Antonio, her daughter Toni-Anne, her son Andrew, her grandchildren Esther, Mariah, Arnold, Ruther, Najia, Elvin, and Timothy, and her great grandchildren Chioma & Brea. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023, 2 pm at Kraeer Funeral Home & Cremation Center. There will be a visitation one hour before the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for all donations be made to Voices for Children Foundation.
