A Life Well Lived

Troy Sims, 69, of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away on October 20, 2024, just three days shy of his 69th birthday. He was born on October 23, 1955, to Wadie and Elizabeth Sims.

Troy is survived by his daughter, Genie Sims, and his three beloved grandchildren. He was a dedicated volunteer at the Raleigh animal shelter, always ready to lend a helping hand to our furry friends in need.

Prior to his work at the animal shelter, Troy served as a Colonel in the Marine Corps, where he exhibited unwavering dedication and honor in his service to his country.

When he wasn't busy with his volunteer work or military duties, Troy could often be found riding his beloved motorcycle, feeling the wind in his hair and the open road beneath him.

Although Troy will be deeply missed by all who knew him, his memory will live on in the countless lives he touched through his kindness and generosity.
