HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. -- Troy A. Clark, 40, of Hopkinsville, Ky., formerly of Corbin, Ky., passed away Friday, Aug. 11, 2017. He was the son of Dr. Kirby L. and Deborah Naylor Clark, born on July 8, 1977, in Ft. Worth, Texas.Troy was a physician's assistant at the Jennie Stuart Medical Center and a member of the First Baptist Church of Williamsburg. He enjoyed music, tennis, gardening, restoring antique furniture, computers and especially loved cats. Troy was a 1995 graduate of Plainview High School and a member of the National Honor Society. He went on to graduate in 1999 from Wayland Baptist University, also in Plainview, Texas. He later was a graduate in the inaugural MSPAS Class of 2012 at the University of the Cumberlands.On April 28, 2012, he united in marriage with Angela Renee Messer.He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lt. Col. William C. Naylor, Delvin E. and Ella Pearl Clark and a brother-in-law, John Sharp.Survivors include his loving wife, Angela R. Clark of Hopkinsville, Ky.; his parents, Dr. Kirby and Deborah Clark of Williamsburg, Ky.; two children, Ashlie Mason and husband, Tylor, and Nicholas Gilliam all of Hopkinsville, Ky.; two sisters, Dawn Mustian and husband, Joe, of Plainview, Texas, and Terry Sharp of Knoxville, Tenn.; his grandmother, Betty Naylor of Athens, Texas; nieces and nephews, Logan and Layne Mustian, Brianna and Brooklyn Ledford and Jacob Patterson; his mother-in-law, Deanna Messer of Corbin, Ky.; his father-in-law, Robert Messer of Frankfort, Ky.; a sister-in-law, Jennifer Patterson of Barbourville, Ky.; among other loved ones and dear friends.His funeral service will be conducted at the First Baptist Church of Williamsburg, Ky., Thursday, Aug. 17 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ande Myers and Dr. Robert Dunston officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Messer Cemetery at Heidrick, Ky.Casket bearers will be Adam Adkins, Joshua Bray, Tyler Collins, Wesley Faulkner, Tylor Mason and Tyler Young. Honorary bearers will be the inaugural MSPAS Class of 2012 at the University of the Cumberlands.Friends may call at the church Thursday after noon until the funeral hour.Expressions of sympathy may go to the University of the Cumberlands, Troy A. Clark Scholarship Fund in his memory.Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home, Barbourville, Ky.
