Truman was the youngest of three children born in Cleveland, Oh on January 07, 1942 to James and Geneva Talley. On July 2, 2023 Truman who was favorably known as the Cookie Man, was called home to be with his Heavenly Father. He was a beloved husband, father, bonus father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many who loved and adored him. Truman was a man knowledgeable in so many subjects. He was an avid reader in High School where he gained recognition for a map he created based on the number of books he read. In 1962 he enlisted into the Navy where he became a radar technician, after his honorable discharge in 1966 he later pursued his love for cooking by enrolling in culinary school. This is where his love for baking cookies began and how he became recognized as the cookie man. Truman had a love for life and music, he was a road manager for Roy Ayer’s he not only toured and traveled with the group, he also assisted in song writing. Truman met the love of his life Barbara in 1995 people often thought they were joined at the hip, where you saw them both together at all times. Ironically they both loved to cook and opened a restaurant in Los Angeles called Truman Talley Specialties. During the holidays you would find them both in the kitchen making delicious treats and meals for family and friends. They complimented each other she was his Bonnie and he was her Clyde. As Truman became ill after being diagnosed with dementia Mamma as he affectionately called her, devoted her time to taking care of his every need ensuring the doctors provided him with the best of care, making sure his final days were filled with smiles as his request was always one of his favorite chicken sandwiches and a frozen lemonade which was also his final meal. Truman was preceded in death by his parents James and Geneva, brother Arnold, and son Truman Everest. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Barbara, Sister Gwen, Daughters Annise (a.k.a Neicy), Autumn (Correy), Carol and Heather (Louie) son’s Truman Brent (Corey) Truman Amir, Raymone (Sonia), Derrick (Nita) Steven(Cynthia) and Louis( Vickey). A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren. Niece's, nephews, cousin’s, family and friends who will forever remember our Cookie man.
