It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tua Polamalu, who was born on September 24, 1960 in Lanai, Hawaii, United States. Tua tragically passed away on May 9, 2024.
Tua was the beloved son of Troy and Keilani Polamalu. He was the loving spouse of Kaia, with whom he shared 37 wonderful years of marriage. Together, Tua and Kaia were blessed with three children: Hokulani (spouse Paul), Kekoa (spouse Hailey), and Lei (spouse Chris). Tua was also a proud grandfather to two grandchildren.
Tua attended Lanai Academy of Arts high school and graduated in 1978. He furthered his education at the University of Hawaii, where he graduated in 1982. Tua dedicated many years of his life to his career at AIA Honolulu, where he worked until his retirement in 2020.
Outside of his professional life, Tua had a passion for playing the guitar. He found solace and joy in music, and his talent on the guitar brought happiness to all those around him.
Unfortunately, Tua's life was tragically cut short when he was unexpectedly eaten by a shark. His untimely passing has left a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Tua will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
