Tunis "Doc" SentsAugust 16, 1920 - February 20, 2014Tunis "Doc" Sents, 93, of Caldwell, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at home of natural causes. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 28, 2014 at Valley Church, 2911 Muller Lane, Caldwell. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell. Friends may call at Dakan Funeral Chapel on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Condolences can be shared with the family at www.dakanfuneralchapel.comDoc was born on August 16, 1920 in Lovilia, Iowa to Leonard Adrian Sents and Jennett Visser Sents. He grew up in Della, Iowa and graduated from Della High School in 1939. Following high school he served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. After serving his country he resided in California where he began working for a wood window manufacturer until his retirement in 1982. In August 1982 he and Fern moved to Caldwell, Idaho.Doc married Fern A. Crowell March 7, 1947 in Los Angeles, California. They were happily married for 53 years. Doc was meticulous about taking care of his yard as well as the lawn of Valley Church where he attended. He spent countless hours digging up dandelions he found growing in the church lawn. Doc loved fishing above all other hobbies but also enjoyed bowling and playing cards with the gang.Doc was a kind and gentle spirited man. To know him was to love him. He blessed many people by his Christian lifestyle and his love for Jesus was apparent to everyone who met him. His love and compassion for others will be greatly missed.Doc was preceded in death by his wife Fern, son Timothy, parents, and siblings. Surviving is his son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Patricia of Vincennes, Indiana; two granddaughters, Angela and Christine of Washington; and nieces and nephews.
