Varena Jo BarberSouthaven, MSVarena Jo Barber, 89, passed away at her home on April 9, 2017 in Southaven, MS. She was born on June 28, 1927 in Chillicothe, TX. She was the younger of two daughters of Joe Le Fevere and Pearl King. Mrs. Barber leaves a daughter, Joellyn Gatliff; sons, J. Russell Barber and John H. Barber; and one grandchild. Jo Barber was a Career Civil Services Contracting Officer, who retired after 25 years of service from the Depot in Memphis, TN. Mrs. Barber was married for 58 years to retired USMC Master Gunnery Sergeant, Russell J. Barber, who served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam as an aerial navigator, who passed in January of 2009 and they will be buried together. A Memorial service will be held in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene Road, Memphis, TN on May 19 at 10:45 a.m.
