Vera Mae Adams “Ma Mae” was the sixth child born to the union of the late Louis Sr. and Iona S. Adams on July 9, 1959. Gone to soon at the age of sixty, Vera was called from her on earthly home to her heavenly home on Friday, June 26, 2020.
Vera was baptized at Greater Saint John B.C. at an early age and served as an Usher. Vera went on to complete her education where she achieved her G.E.D. Vera continued to gain knowledge and trainings for her personal and professional development earning an array of certifications. Vera worked at various restaurants in Lafitte, LA. She also worked for the Barataria Postal Service as a mail deliver. She attended Fisher Middle School which is now Fisher High School, where for 25 years she worked as a custodian and over the years of dedication she became so much more. Vera was a friend, school mom, counselor, mentor, positive influence and caregiver for so many at the school and around the community. Vera was an exceptional hairstylist with no professional training, her work was by far exquisite. Vera had a passion for gardening, she enjoyed spending her off time planting, chilling on da bayou and creating special moments with her family and grandchildren.
Vera leaves her love and precious memories with her two sons Reginald G. Adams Sr.(Tamara) Dustin O. Adams(Kelly & Lindsey) she was pre-deceased by her late son Leroy(T’noy) Adams. Vera leaves the most special memories with her daughter-niece Jakyra Adams that she raised. Vera Is survived by her seven grandchildren. Reginald Jr., Maya, Mari, Suriya, Amyiah, Aleyiah, and Dustin Jr. Adams. She leaves cherished memories to her three sisters Rosalee A. Williams, Susie & Ella Adams. Two brothers Joseph & Pernell Adams. Pre-deceased by her three brothers Louis Jr., Dimitre, & Chris Adams. Vera also leaves her memories to 6 nephews, 5 nieces and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.

Details: Officers and members of Greater St. John Baptist Church students faculty and staff of Fisher high school and Liu Koerner middle school Jules Nunez company the communities of Barataria Lafitte Crownpoint and surrounding areas are invited to attend the services. Viewing will begin from 9 AM until service. There will on be one service. Greater Saint John Baptist Church host church Reverend Dr. Harrel E. Clark officiating, Interment in Baileys cemetery Barataria La, Services and arrangements and Intrusted to Professional Funeral Services.
All attending guest must wear mask and should practice social distancing according to the CDC policies due to current pandemic conditions.
