Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Peterson Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Carlisle City Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, the evening prior, at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle from 5-7:00 pm. Vera was born on August 15, 1925 in Lucas County, Iowa to William and Gladys Terril. Vera is survived by her children, Andra Kay Black of Carlisle, Roger(Sandy)Abel of Carlisle, Patsy(Doug)Daniel of Iowa Falls, Martha(Don)DeJoode of Carlisle, Rick(Linda)Abel of Carlisle, Gayla(Bobby)Stewart of Carlisle; 21 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren with one on the way, 1 great great grandchild; sister in law, Janet Abel of Carlisle and many nieces and nephews. Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Abel; parents, William and Gladys Terril; sisters, Martha(Vernie)Greer and Mildred Terril; brothers, Marlin Terril, Ashton(Bernadine)Terril, and Robert(Mary) Terril, and many brothers and sisters in law.
