Vera T. Urquidez, Age 80 of Gonzales, passed away on Friday, April 17th, 2015. She was born to the late Max Torres and the late Lucille Tato Torres on January 1, 1935. Vera attended La Gloria Elementary, Gonzales Union High School, and attended Hartnell Community College. She worked at La Gloria Elementary, Fairview Middle and Gonzales High School. She worked as both an Administrative assistant and Educator for over 30 years. Family and friends were Vera's passion and delight. She grew up in the area with 3 brothers and 3 sisters. She loved cooking and entertaining her grandchildren. For several years, Vera enjoyed the company of her pet bird, "Kisses", along with her Husband, Ruben Urquidez. Vera and Ruben just recently had celebrated their 61st Wedding Anniversary. Vera and Ruben spent many summers at their vacation home in Pioneer, CA. Vera enjoyed the outdoors and the beautiful weather there. Vera was always very active and vibrant, with a smile that brightened up a room.
