Verna A. Haubrich1925 - 2013 Verna A. Haubrich, 88, of Racine formerly of Kenosha passed away on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at Artisan Assisted Living with her family by her side. Verna was born on May 12, 1925, in Kenosha to Walter and Lucy (Slagoski) Oliak and she graduated from Kenosha High School. She married Harold Haubrich in 1944 at the Kenosha Courthouse. She worked customer service for many years at George Conley, Jewel and Piggly Wiggly. She was a member of Immanuel Methodist Church. Verna enjoyed casinos and trips to Las Vegas but she especially enjoyed the time she spent with her family and friends.She was preceded in death by, her parents; her husband; her siblings, Stan Oliak, Frank Oliak, Regina Ungemach, Leona Webb, Fran Holmes and Walter Oliak in childhood and a brother-in-law, Frank Lentine.Verna is survived by, three children, James (Chel) Haubrich of Dothan, Ala., Katherine (Joyce Kroes) Pentilla of Waterford and Beth (Kevin) Ruehl of Stevens Point; son-in-law, Pete Pentilla; six grandchildren, Hether (Robbie) Reynolds, Steve (Dawn) Haubrich, David Haubrich, Jennifer (Art) Juszkiewicz, Jeanine Pentilla and Emy Ruehl; 10 great grandchildren, Katherine, Destiny, Shaelynn, Sierra, Brendon, Steven, Crystal, Isabella, Jane and Ean; her brother, Tony (Karen) Szikil of Kenosha; two sisters, Lillian Lentine of Kenosha and Pauline (Paul) Skuglik of Kenosha as well as nieces, nephews and friends.Funeral services for Verna will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at the Hansen-Lendman Funeral Home with interment to follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. A visitation will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
