It is with a heavy heart and a twisted smile that we bid farewell to Vickie Shears, the liveliest soul to ever grace the streets of Chicago, Illinois. Born on March 18, 1957, Vickie left this world on September 8, 2023, after a valiant battle against a relentless foe: old age.
Vickie, lovingly referred to as "The Energizer Grandma," possessed an unyielding spirit that even the most powerful batteries can only dream of. She was a force to be reckoned with, always on the move, spreading laughter and mischief wherever she went.
Known for her unique sense of humor and love for her family, Vickie kept us all on our toes. Her infectious laughter would echo through the halls, leaving us all in stitches.
Throughout her life, Vickie was the proud mother of one incredible child, Latasha Shears. Latasha was the apple of her eye, Vickie loved her daughter with all her heart .
But Vickie's true joy in life came from being a grandmother to her six amazing grandchildren, Jesse, Tateonna, Lexus, Samuel, LaSya, Quinttillius, will miss her deeply. She also left behind 5 great grandchildren Jessiah, Zola, Bobby, Jesse Jr, and Zaden. We know that they brought endless delight to her existence. Vickie's grandchildren and great grandchildren were the lucky ones, showered with unconditional love, rainbow-colored wisdom.
So, as we say our goodbyes to Vickie Shears, let's remember her not for the tears we shed, but for the laughter she spilled into our lives. In her own unique way, she taught us all to embrace the absurdity of existence and find joy in even the most mundane moments.
Farewell, dear Vickie. May you continue to spread mischief and laughter wherever your spirit takes you. And trust us, you will never be forgotten. Rest in Heaven
