1969 - 2017 Vickie Renee Westbrook, 48 of Newton, texas died on March 14, 2017 at M. D. Anderson Hospital in Houston. She was born on February 13, 1969 in Newton and was a lifelong resident of Newton. She was a 1987 graduate of NHS. Vickie was very passionate about everything in her life. Her favorite hobby was being in her yard and making it beautiful with bright flowers and she had the personality to match them. Any chance she got you could find her outside. She was a proud supporter of her Newton Eagles and she almost always wore purple! Whether it was her children playing of not, she was there to cheer the Eagles on to victory. She also loved being a substitute teacher for NISD where every student loved her as much as she loved them. She always believed in everyone and she just had a way with people. She had a very outgoing and outspoken personality and she loved everybody. She could brighten anyone's day with just her smile; it was contagious and you couldn't help but be happy while around her. Her favorite and most important role was being a wife, mother and grandmother. She loved unconditionally and never lost sight of what really mattered. She was definitely one of a kind and will always be missed. She is survived by her husband, Joe Westbrook, her children, Katye Swiful and husband, Channing, Cheyanne Westbrook, Gus Westbrook, Alyxis Westbrook, Clint Westbrook and wife, Heather, Shaun Jobe and wife, Patricia, Lisa Ratcliff and husband, Chris and Lacy Will, grandchildren, Brayden, Hazely, Kaynon, Maddie, Saydie, Stormie, Shauna, Patrick, Reagan, Macy, Camden, Aiden and Knox (on the way).She is also survived by her father and step-mother, Alvin and Ulita Watson, step-father, Bill Brodnax, siblings, Laura Lee Ratcliff, Melissa Watson, Rodney Watson, Derek Harris and Stephanie Harris and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, Cathey Brodnax and aunt, Lucille Simmons. Visitation will be on Friday, March 17, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home in Newton. Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Newton with burial to follow at the Newton City Cemetery.
