Born on 1st January 1950, Villa was the beloved daughter of James and Katherine Martin. She was married to Matthew Ivy in 1970, and together they shared a life filled with love and joy.

Villa was a devoted and loving mother to her three children, Diane L Ivy (spouse Kenneth Easterling), Tyrone Ivy, and Shabaka Ivy (spouse Katie Ivy). Her family was her pride and joy, and she found immense happiness in witnessing her children grow and thrive. Villa was also blessed with seven grandchildren who brought her much delight.

Education played an integral role in Villa's life. She attended Johnstown High School, where she worked diligently and graduated with the Class of 1968. Her thirst for knowledge then led her to Howard University, where she continued her studies.

Villa's work as a secretary at Artis was both fulfilling and rewarding. However, it was her involvement in community endeavors that truly showcased her compassionate nature. She actively participated in fundraisers for New Hope Baptist Church and dedicated her time to rescue dog organizations. Villa's commitment and selflessness earned her the prestigious Alpha Kappa Alpha alumni award.

Tragically, on the 23rd of November 2023, Villa Ivy's life was cut short due to a heart attack. The news of her passing reverberated throughout the community, leaving a void that can never be filled. Villa will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
