Vincent Earl Broadway, passionately known as "Grand-Daddy" was born to Earl Gene Broadway and Ethel Broadway in Little Rock, Arkansas on January 21, 1931 and was their only child. He always wanted a sibling but instead had a countless number of dogs throughout his childhood. Grand-Daddy graduated from Lee High School in Marianna, Arkansas in 1948 and was the first male in his family to get a high school diploma. He married his high school sweethwart, Marie Lee-Broadway in 1948 and they lived together in Little Rock, Arkansas until 1953. They moved to Chicago, IL for a better life and raised 9 children Russell Broadway Sr, Renfro Broadway Sr, Raypheal Renae Broadway, Lisa Broadway-Davis, Bernard Broadway (Trina Broadway), Derrick Broadway Sr, Vincent Broadway Jr, Willie Earl Gene Broadway (Annie Mae Broadway), Sharon Broadway-Lexington.
Vincent worked independently as a carpenter and handyman until he retired in 2012. He could fix anything from a leaking faucet to a cars' transmission. Grandaddy was passionate about bringing out the most positive change in people and was a God fearing man. His favorite quote was "A man who don't work, is a man who don't eat"
Granddaddy was also a huge sports fan. One of the biggest highlights in his life was being at Wrigley field during the World Series in 2016 when the Chicago Cubs became the World Series champs after 103 years.
Vincent transitioned peacefully from this earth on September 12, 2022. He leaves to cherish his 9 children, 46 grandchildren, countless great grandchildren, other family, friends and his church family. Get your rest, Granddaddy, your 91 years is not in vain. We love you and will truly miss you!!!
