Old Lyme - Vincent S. Agostine of Old Lyme died on Friday, Oct. 28, 2016, after a long illness.Vince was born on Nov. 3, 1952 in Waterbury. He was a graduate of Kennedy High School. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut, and his graduate degree from the University of Hartford. Vince's first career was in the insurance industry, but found his passion in his second career as a public school teacher and administrator. He first taught at Bennie Dover Jackson Middle School in New London, before becoming a principal at Sterling Community School in Sterling. He was most recently the principal of A.W. Cox Elementary School in Guilford.Vince was a loving father to his two children, Alexa of Old Lyme and Zachary of Raleigh, N.C. In addition, Vince is survived by his former spouse, Lisa Bousquet of Guilford; his three brothers, Anthony and his wife Lenore, of Waterbury, John and his partner, Kirk Gilmore, of Wolfeboro, N.H. and James and his wife, Lisa, of Bethlehem; and his sister, Maria and her husband, James, of Londonderry, N.H.Vince was known for his passion for teaching students. He enjoyed long walks in the woods and on the beaches of Old Lyme. He was most alive when outdoors and surrounded by children. He will be missed.A private memorial service will be held.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the A.W.
