Bruno, Vincent WilliamsVincent William Bruno, 91, beloved husband of Linda L. Bruno, peacefully passed into Heaven on May 30, 2017, at Cayuga Ridge, Ithaca, New York.Vince was born on May 30, 1926, in Jersey City, New Jersey. Upon graduating from Pompton Lakes High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy to serve during World War II. He was on the U.S.S. Shannon at Nagaski and Okinawa.After his overseas tour service, he continued his education at the University of Rhode Island where he earned a Bachelor's of Science in Agriculture and developed his love for animals and farming. Following his marriage (1968) to Linda and eventual move to their Dryden farm (1975), Vince earned his teaching certification from SUNY Oswego.During his lifetime, he was the owner of a home improvement business, an industrial arts teacher, a landlord, and a farmer. As a lover of animals, he enjoyed caring for his donkeys, horses, cattle, sheep, and faithful dogs. One of his favorite daily activities was chatting with people. The Dryden community was very special to him.Vince is survived by his loving wife, Linda, of 49 years, three sons, one granddaughter, four great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 West Main Street, Dryden, New York 13053.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Vince's name to the Dryden Ambulance, Inc, P.O. Box 397, Dryden, New York 13053.
