In Loving Memory

Viola Mobley, a beloved mother, grandmother, and member of the Milwaukee community, passed away on October 20, 2024, at the age of 67. She was born on March 4, 1957, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Jeffrey and Evelyn Mobley.

Viola lived most of her childhood in Kankakee, Illinois and had all of her children in Kankakee, Illinois. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion through her six children: Lenard, Denise, Chantel, Jawuan, Terry, and Dante. Her family was the center of her world, and she adored her eight grandchildren.

Viola attended Lafayette High School in Kankakee, Illinois and graduated in 1976, a milestone that she was incredibly proud of. She went on to work at Vickie’s Diner, where she bonded with the community, and poured her heart and soul into her job until her retirement in 1992 due to medical conditions at that time in her life.

One of Viola’s greatest joys in life was her soul food cooking, every Sunday she would always be in the kitchen cooking for the whole family after Sunday church. She had green thumbs spending countless hours tending to her gardens, producing beautiful flowers and delicious fruits and vegetables. She also had a passion for singing in the church choir and often entertained her family and friends with her beautiful voice.

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Viola, who touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.

Viola Mobley’s life was tragically cut short by a stroke, but her spirit will live on in the memories of those who loved her.
