VIOLET MAE BOWDENMarch 25, 1927 - July 30, 2017Dallas - Violet Mae Bowden, 90, a resident of Dallas, died Sunday, July 30, 2017 in the Salem Hospital. She was born on March 25, 1927 in Roseville, California, the daughter of Edward Franklin and Florence Mae McMahan Earl. Violet enjoyed walking on the beach and watching the breakers roll in. She loved to travel and went to Hawaii four times and cruised through the Panama Canal. Violet and her daughters traveled to London England and to Scotland on her 80th birthday. She was a lifetime member of the
VFW and helped every year with the Christmas gift packs for the Vets. She was an active member of the Dallas First Presbyterian Church. Violet enjoyed her family and will be missed. Survivors include daughters, Diana (Ed) Hand of Dallas and Maureen (Don) Reed of Salem, along with seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Virginia Blair of Utah. Viewing will be from 1:00 to 5:00pm Sunday, August 6th in the Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center. Funeral services will begin at 1:00pm Monday, August 7th in the Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center. Private interment will be in the Dallas Cemetery. To leave a message or memory please go to
