Schmidt, VioletViolet Schmidt, 96, Marshfield, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, April 14, 2017 at Three Oaks Health Service, Marshfield. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Rembs Funeral Home where the visitation will be from 9:30 am on Wednesday until service time. Rev. Mark Krueger will officiate. Burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield. Violet was born on July 23, 1920 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. She was adopted at age 2 by David and Sarah Emmonds in Winnepeg, Manitoba. She married Earl Jansen on December 9, 1939. They later divorced. Coming to the United States she became a U.S. citizen which she was very proud of. She married Peter A. Schmidt on July 14, 1956. He preceded her in death on March 14, 1984. Violet is survived by a daughter, Cheryl (Bob) Bushman and two grandchildren, Jodi (David) and Chad (Rob), five great grandchildren, Ashley, Zackery, Aaron, Josh and Bella. She is further survived by a brother, James (Brenda) Emmonds, a nephew Garth Emmonds, a niece Lisa Emmonds, two great nieces, Madeline and Lily and the extended Bushman family. In addition to her husband, Peter, she was predeceased by her parents. The family wishes to thank all the wonderful staff at Three Oaks for Violet's care in the last 3 ½ years.The family will designate a memorial in Violet's name at a later date.
