Violeta Garcia Cordova 82 yrs. of age passed peacefully on Monday November 21, 2016 with her grandson Orly by her side. She was born on November 9, 1934 in El Paso, Texas to the late Miguel Garcia Sr. and Alicia Ugartechea. She attended St. Ignacio Catholic school and graduated from Bowie High School in 1954. Violeta worked at J.C. Penny for 25 years and later retired from Camino Real Middle School. Violeta was married to the late Ramon C. Cordova Jr. for 44 years and together they had 3 sons, Orlando (Patricia), David and Arturo (Amabely). She had 5 grandchildren who she loved dearly, Orlando (Orly) and Lauren, Andree and Justin and Alexandra Cordova. She is survived by her brother and sister Mike Garcia Jr. and Guadalupe Silva. Mom was a devoted Catholic her entire life and never deviated from her beliefs in God and La Virgen de Guadalupe. She was an amazing cook and always had food at the table for anyone that visited her home. A very loving and caring person who never complained about anything or anyone as she knew the lord watched over her, her family and friends Pallbearers will be Orlando, David, and Arturo (Pico), Orly and Justin Cordova, Mike Garcia and Mike Olivas (Frosty). On behalf of the family we would like to express our sincere gratitude to our cousin Dr. Jose Silva who cared for our mother throughout her medical challenges. Visitation will be Monday, November 28, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home-West. Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at Santo Nino de Atocha Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will be at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
