Obituary: Virgil Nerezza
Virgil Nerezza, a beloved resident of Seattle, Washington, passed away on July 19, 2023, at the age of 73. He was born on March 3, 1950, to loving parents, John and Maria Nerezza.
Vigil was known for his gentle and compassionate nature, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He had a genuine curiosity about the world and a thirst for knowledge that never wavered throughout his life. From a young age, he displayed a deep appreciation for art and literature, which eventually led him to pursue a career in education.
Virgil received his Bachelor's degree in English Literature from the University of Washington and later went on to earn a Master's degree in Education. He dedicated over four decades of his life to teaching at Roosevelt High School, nurturing and inspiring countless students along the way. His commitment to education went beyond the classroom, as he also served as a mentor and advisor to many aspiring young writers.
Outside of his profession, Virgil had an adventurous spirit and loved exploring the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. He frequently took long hikes, capturing the breathtaking landscapes through his photography. Virgil's eye for detail allowed him to create stunning visual narratives, showcasing his deep connection to his surroundings.
Virgil was a lifelong music enthusiast and talented musician himself. He played the piano and guitar, often using music as a form of self-expression and solace. He would spend hours lost in the melodies, finding comfort in their harmonies and rhythms. Virgil's love for music was infectious, and he often played for friends and family, bringing joy to their lives with his performances.
Virgil's passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of his family members, friends, and colleagues. His legacy as an exceptional teacher, artist, and loving individual will not be forgotten. Virgil's memory will continue to inspire and uplift all those whose lives he touched.
He is survived by his children, Emily and Daniel; his adoring grandchildren, Ava and Noah; and his sister, violet. Virgil will be deeply missed but forever cherished.
